Replacing transducer

I am trying to replace the transducer without destroying the faring.
I have not been able to break the transducer loose from the faring.
Need advise from anyone who has done this.

Heat from a hair dryer will break down the bond if its 5200 holding it together. Then a razor knife and cut it away bit by bit.

I have also heard a fine wire can be used (I assume like a piano wire), wrap the ends around blocks and work it back and forth.

I have removed many glued things by using some nylon string ( the stuff found in a chalk line) and it saws through the

chalking .

Our boatyard used a Sawzall. Xducer and fairing all toast, OK by me. Replaced with an in-hull Airmar P79, no more protrusions to snag stuff. Shooting through the outer FRP skin only, the image is excellent.

Thanks for the info. I am hoping to pop the tranducer out without having to remove the faring.
Rob S, I ordered Debond and will give it a try this weekend.
