Albin 28 Stuffing Box

Post by RNick »

I am looking to purchase an Albin 28, and have had trouble locating the stuffing box. I see a salt water cooled fitting on the shaft, but not stuffing box. Where is it located?

That is a packless shaft seal. No stuffing and no dripping in the bilge.

The earlier years could still have conventional stuffing boxes but the cooling fitting suggests dripless. If its a blue hose on the shaft log thats a Tides Marine setup with a lipseal in a carrier.
