Northern Chesapeake Bay Cruise Fall 2012

Post by crowra »

Sharon and I made a one-week northern Bay cruise leaving Herrington Harbour South Sunday 29 Sep. Last night was at Mears Point Marina, Grasonville (Keny Island) for a cold rainy day of football all day at Annies (the sun is ALWAYS shining in a bar!). Returned home 8 Oct. First stop was the Spa Creek Mooring Field in Annapolis. As long as you are less than 35.9999', you can get a mooring buoy. The Spa Creek Bridge opens every 30 minutes. Ego Alley was empty since the town was getting ready for the boat shows the following two weekends. Map of our journey: https://maps.google.com/maps/ms?msid=21 ... 0599&msa=0

All good stops. I've never seen Ego Alley so quiet.

Thanks for sharing. We're jealous.

I am sure there are other folks besides me that would like to know how to mark up a google earth shot to show their cruise route. It would be great if you could post a short step by step tutorial for our benefit. Thanks for the pics and for showing how it is done. A wonderful cruise.

John & Chuck - thanks!
Chuck: First you'll need a Google account, https://accounts.google.com/NewAccount
- Login to Google and go to http://maps.google.com (or login from Google Maps)
- Click My Places then Create Map. There should be an interactive tutorial link directly below "Create Map" that will give you step-by-step instructions (much better than I can provide).

It's that easy. Try it and if you have any questions I will be glad to try and answer them.

Nice loop, thanks for sharing. Looks like you had a nice balance between "at-the-helm" time and "in-port" time. Nothing beats relaxing on the hook with a cold one in hand (in an AOG koozie of course) with the grill fired up!
