Hinge Pins

I searched the site for any experience/problems w/the hinge pins in the lazarettes or access doors and couldn't find anything (search skills may need to be honed). So my question is: Is anyone else having problems with the pins coming out of the hinges? It's happened to me a 1/2 dozen times sinces we got Steel Hers in June. Normally I catch them before they come all the way out and push them back in, but today I found one all the way out for one of the storage boxes and what a pain to get that open and then the pin back in. You'd think one end would be capped or something so at least it could only slide out in one direction. Anyway, are there different pins or a home made solution? Thanks

I had issues with the hinge pins as well and I replaced the problem hinges with Attwood hinges. The Perkos were not the same size.

One of my hinges, the one to access the "engine room" from the pilot house, has this problem. It has never come all the way out. I just push it back in. Strange that they don't have something to keep them from moving...

I like the idea of the replacement hinge. I'll keep that in mind if the problem spreads.

Can you put a bend in the pin so that it needs to be tapped in and maintains a snug fit?
