1997 28TE Head Sink Faucet Acess for R&R of faucet

Post by JIMBO44 »

In process of trying to replace subject faucet and find acess is not available below faucet, 1st idea was to try to come in thru helm area. Not easy at all, next idea it to cut fiberglas from inside head/shower below sink. I could then install removable circular access panel. My worry here is cutting in to something (wiring, cabling, etc.) that would cause other problems. Ideas are really welcomed.

You don't need to cut an access panel. I'm guessing you are trying to replace the faucet in the head at the sink. Look for the supply lines on the bulkhead opposite the faucet in the engine compartment. Trace them up and access to the faucet can be had up in side the sound proofing insulation.

Not easy but not too bad either.

Nancy, found it, thank you for the info, i was initially hopeful when another person tried yesterday suggesting that I acess thru engine area, after sending thanks i realized that he did not know that Matter of Time was Engine Box. I would need to be a real contortionist to do this. Will try using your great photos and info and doing it.

I reread Nancy's original thread and she accomplished the task as I suggested.

Secondly removal of the refrigerator is not necessary to replace the galley faucet. The cabinet below the sink is easily removed.

Correct. To me, it looked easier to remove the fridge (which we were doing anyway because it was dead and being replaced) than to disconnect the drain fitting which would have been needed to remove the cabinet beneath the sink.

Nancy - I had that cabinet out so many times when I was running the wires for the AC you would laugh...

I even left a flashlight back there and had to pull it out again...LOL
