Albin TE sunk at dock?

A rare moment of peace and quiet in the "hetek" household gave me the opportunity to do one thing I enjoy - read boating magazines.

So I'm flipping through the latest BoatU.S. magazine (October/November 2012) and I get to page 86. I pause. Is this a photo of what I think it is?

Say it ain't so! It may be a stock photo that makes print every Fall issue, but I've never seen it before. Can you "TE" guys confirm/deny? (No, I'm not asking who's boat it is, but is it really an Albin?)

I think I would shed a tear if I ever found "Bunkie" sunk to her gunnels like that. I can scan and post for those who don't get this periodical.

So sad. And if the owner of said vessel is reading this... my apologies. I didn't mean to bring up bad memories.

Not a pretty site. Looks like some diesel trapped in the ice around the port stern piling.

Jon, I noticed that a couple of days ago, too! It sure looked like a 28TE to me except the raised part of the foredeck seemed a little too squared off, but that might just be the photo. A sad sight no matter what!

She's a 28TE, no question. Late 90's, early 2000's vintage. Hopefully his insurance policy did not have an environmental exclusion.

I know that DEC fines can get up there. I knew someone that was fined $8K for what was about a gallon of motor oil. And that was back in the 1980's.

And having a boat full of water is not fun either. Every wire onboard will need to be replaced. And the cushions... And the diesel in the cabin now...

I'm getting ill just thinking about it.
