all around light pole

Post by Spfoster »

Somehow the holes in my all-around light pole got buggered and it won't stand up straight. (No jokes, please). I've tried redrilling and tapping a larger screw size, but still can't correct the alignment. I'm wondering if this is a replaceable part. I haven't found a manufacturer's name on the light, and haven't seen anything with the proper angled pole on the Web. Any suggestions?

Which light do you have? The stock one was a 12" attwood, I think. Should be readily available.

Pictures?

Is this the mast you have? Are these the screw holes you are referring to?

This is the light setup. Two screws hold the pole in its socket. The holes in the pole have become ob-round so the pole lists. I think I need a new pole if I can find one that's curved like this.

i have the same pole with single screw. wobbles a little as i take it down each season for trailering home, i will simply drill a couple holes and add ss screws to firm it up.

This is how I would fit it as well.

You could also try putting a thin layer of tape on the pole to make it fit more snuggly in the socket to keep your new holes from elongating as well.
