1992 Albin 27'Diesel Express - Solid Fiberglass? Core Hull?

Post by oldbay »

Hello
I'm new to the group, so hello to everybody! Can anyone tell me if a 1992 Albin 27' Diesel Express
has a solid fiberglass hull or is it a foam core composite? And/or... were all 1992 Albin hulls solid fiberglass?
Look forward to the feedback!
Cheers - Old Bay

Hi OldBay,

Welcome to AOG.

I'm not familiar with the hulls of the older A series Albins. I did a search in this sub-forum (go to "Advanced search", search for the word "cored" in the A25/A27 forum) and found one post that says it's solid, and a second that said it was cored. So you may have to investigate yourself. I would expect that if it is cored it's with balsa, Albin didn't start using foam core until around 2000. (Don't quote me on the date!)

Doug,
Thanks for your response and your sleuthing. I'll go into the A25/A27 forum and do some more
research. Great idea.
Cheers - John
