I did some calculations and estimates for fuel use so far on our summer long cruise.
1775 miles travelled (statute miles).
269 engine hours
507 gal fuel burned
That equates to 1.88 gal per hour, and 3.4 miles per gallon.
(Engine was turned off in all locks (required in Canada), so idle time was minimized)
We still have approx 2 weeks left until we get back to Portland and I'll do an update then.

And about 2,500 hours aboard. There should be a gauge for that too. There are times we spend 3 days aboard at a local anchorage and MAYBE she gets 0.8 hours on the engine..

Did that calculation include generator? I laughed when you said you could actually see the fuel gauge move on your 9 hr day.

Yes that included the generator, but I only ran the genny maybe 20 hours so that fuel use is insignificant.
