Using too much oil?

Post by Woody »

Our 'new' Albin 25 has a rebuilt Westerbeke 27 hp engine. It runs well, but I need to add oil after only a few hours running. Is this normal? Never had previous experience with diesel engines, so any tips would be appreciated.

:D Sometimes the installation angle will make the engine "puke" out a quart, then it willstabilize.
My Lehman does that, and now I leave it just below the "min" line on the stick and it will stay like that for many many hours.
No more adding oil to the bilge

OK thanks for the tip. I'll just watch it for a bit without adding some each time. Still getting to know her.
