Ken Hilton's son in law

Post by DougSea »

Hi all,

gspier had posted in the NE Rendezvous section some unfortunate news about Ken Hilton's son-in-law, see below:
gspier wrote:... Unfortunately, Standish Boad Yard had an accident where Ken Hilton's son in law, Kyle, that works for him was crushed by a boat falling off the stands and is in serious conditon at RI Hospital. See attached article:

...Please keep Kyle in your prayers.
Greg
I don't have any updates but I was wondering if any of our RI members might know something.

I spoke with Ken last Saturday morning...

Kyle St Pierre was severely injured when a 32' Regulator toppled onto him while he was barrier coating the bottom. He was med-flighted to Rhode Island Hospital with crushing injuries to his chest and pelvis. He suffered a collapsed lung and several broken ribs. His pelvis was broken along with the hip bone and socket.

Ed Belisle happened to be leaving work at the time of the accident and jumped into a fork lift. With Ed lifting the boat, others were able to pull Kyle out from under the hull.

Kyle is married to Ken and Denise's daughter, Bethany. They were married last fall.

The folks at Standish are great people. They have always made me feel like part of their family rather than just a customer. I've come to know them all quite well and wish Kyle a complete recovery from this accident.

I spoke with Ken and Denise yesterday afternoon ...

Kyle is progressing extremely well and should make a full recovery. He should be released from the hospital shortly and will be returning to his and Bethany's new home. They finalized the purchase while Kyle has been mending at the hospital.

Wow. On advice from this board, we contacted Ken with some preliminary Albin questions, as he's a fantastic resource. We then chose Ken as our purchase broker for Steel Hers, and he and Denise were fantastic during and after the process! Funny, this is the first time I've actually visited the General Discussion area. Glad to here a full recovery is expected. Our prayers are with them.
