Electronic schematics
Does anyone have electronic schematics for a 1985, 40' Albin double cabin trawler, single Lehman diesel?
Thankyou,

Hey I see you are from Mystic....ME TOO! Small world.
I am wintering in Portland, but will be back at Gwenmor in May.
We'll have to get together in the summer.
Did you buy the old "Jaclyn" by any chance? I looked at her Oct 05 and passed...they were asking lots more when she first went up for sale. We bought ours in Nov 05 in Rochester.
I also have a wiring mess and have adopted the "leave it if it works" philosophy. I'll improve things as I make changes/upgrades.

Yes, we bought the "Jaclyn". Her new name is "Lyric" and she'll be right across the river from you at Mystic Shipyard. Previous owner became extremely "motivated" this last December, and after the marine survey the price dropped a lot more. I'll have to go with the existing electronic situation for now, as you'r doing, and clean up and reorganize as we up-date. See you this summer. J.

I am trying to put together a file library for the board. If you don't mind, please send me a copy too.
Thanks!

Wiring Schematic
I have been working on the wiring on my Albin 36 for a few years. Would love to have a copy of that schematic.

Classic 36 Wiring
I looked at a Classic 36 last week in Poulsbo, WA. I think it might be the only Albin in the Northwest. The condition of the wiring in the forward panel was one of the reasons I decided to pass on it. In addition to several "types" of wiring, there was significant corrosion, as if the panel had been wet a few times. There was evidence of water damage around the windows and in the v-birth bulkheads. As an Albin wannabe, I'm wondering if problems of this type are common with the wood, and if the teak windows and decks can be upgraded or replaced to improve this situation.
We love the boat, but are apprehensive about buying into a problem without a path to a solution.
Any comments would be appreciated,

Re: Electronic schematics
Hey Diversion,
I would like to get a copy of the wiring schematic.
I just finished renovating my '85 Albin 36 up the road from you in Stuart, FL. We found that my AC wiring to outlets was solid conductor installed by the builder in '85 (go figure) and had to strip it all out. Also found that there was no breaker at the shore power connection, the first breaker was the AC panel breaker, allowing for possible electrical wire problems (short/fire) in the 2-3 feet from the shore power connection to the AC panel. Since we'll be hitting a lot of marinas on the Great Loop next year, I wanted to be sure I didn't have a problem on my boat if/when the breaker on the shore power pedestal in a tired, old marina is rusted/corroded and will not open with a surge/short.
