I found this on another boating site, it's pretty cool. You can find just about any marina and zoom in. http://www.marinas.com , check it out. Denis

Very clear shots.
The closest to me is Dundee Creek Marina, MD

Not a bad tool for cruising. I'm going to Eastern Yacht Club, MD for a party in May. Now I know what it looks like. The approach, entrance, etc.
The following week is Rock Hall, MD. If I had never been there before this site would have been helpful. I'll add it to the featured links section.

Oh Boy! Even with my limited knowledge of marinas & harbours, one can waste all kinds of time on that website. Great stuff!

A friend of mine was over last night and I showed him the site. We were wondering who's backing it since it clearly would cost a good amount of money to get all those photos from all over the world (except for Bermuda :? )

We concluded that it could be C-Map, they offer 'marina views' in their new chart series. How else could a free site have such a complete library of aerial photos?

It looks like a variation on Goole Map to me.

Well, could be a division, or they could have licensed the photos. Don't know. Just seems interesting that someone clearly set out to get detailed photos of EVERY marina and club - we're a little place and there are six pictures of us. And these shots are fairly recent. I'm guessing taken in the spring of 2006 based on the locations I know.

If not C-Map (which is owned by Jeppesen, which is owned by Boeing) ... Garmin maybe?
