It's time to update this thread! Where can I find a replacement shower faucet for the head? This is the 4" unit which has only the knobs and no spout.

Thanks!

I had looked for this one for our 28. Never did find it. I'll be interested to see if anyone can find it, I liked the way it looked, there are places I could use that on the 35.

Any idea if the new 28TE's use the same design?

C&C Marine is using the Scandvik 11429 in the head. This is a pull-out faucet with a sprayer, so I'm guessing that there is only one faucet in the head in new 28's. That makes sense.

The 11429 isn't on Scandvik's web site, but these look similar:

http://www.scandvik.com/index.cfm/metho ... ID/694.htm
http://www.scandvik.com/index.cfm/metho ... ID/697.htm
http://www.scandvik.com/index.cfm/metho ... /ID/21.htm

Couple of problems from my perspective:
- Pricey
- Single 1.5" mounting hole vs. existing 4" O.C. would require modification in an area that's already extremely difficult to access.

I'm continuing to look for a 4" replacement.

I MAY have found it!

http://www.amazon.com/Mobile-Exposed-Sh ... B0042KYPW8

The description says all fittings are on the back. Most that look like this have a fitting that comes out the top/bottom but this one doesn't appear to. I tried looking at the manufacturers site, shows the same picture. I'd give hem a call.

Great sleuthing, Doug! That faucet doesn't even appear on Phoenix Faucets web site (http://www.phoenixfaucets.com/). I've emailed the Amazon seller with questions about the connections.

I had no idea that this faucet would be such a specialty (i.e. RV) item. I was hoping for more choices as I'm not crazy about the handles at all. But in the end, I'll take almost any shiny new faucet over the pitted mess that's there now, and look for a standard lavatory faucet for the head sink. Yeah, yeah, they won't match as I'd hoped. Oh well.

Found another one: http://www.amazon.com/American-Brass-YJ ... sbs_auto_4

Let us know if those work!

BTW - just saw your response - I'd be really surprised if you couldn't replace the handles, they're almost certainly a "standard" fitting.

Yah, I replaced all 4 faucet handles in the head because those "wings" on the originals were interfering with the handles' rotation. I had intended to replace the stems, washers, and all but could not find anything in all the local big boxes and plumbing stores that would match. I ORIGINALLY intended to replace the entire unit with a single-handle model like what Delta makes - BUT that bulkhead right behind the sink, separating the sink from its service plumbing, stopped me. Eventually I'll get back up under the helm again and chop out a section of the bulkhead behind the sink to rationalize this idiot "design".

Be careful when selecting new handles that the broach pattern matches the one on the stems, otherwise you'll need to melt a new broach onto the stems using an extra handle. The temperature for melting but not destroying that nylon is about 450 degrees F.

Joe,

I've ordered the shower faucet that Doug found along with a Delta two-handle faucet for the sink. I wanted a single handle, but didn't find one I liked for the price I was willing to pay. Hey, anything new and shiny is going to look like a million bucks.

As for access, I think it's doable, but probably not by me. My arms just aren't long enough.

Hello harry,
you can find your shower faucet replacement here
http://www.familyhandyman.com

And you can replace your shower faucet by following these simple steps.

1. Open and check the valve assemblies before installation.
2. Tape the new valves.
3. Install the new valve.
4. Install the sleeve.
5. Install the flange.
6. Install the retaining screw cover on each handle.
7. Use bathtub caulk to seal any gaps where hardware meets the shower wall.
