Fasteners for aft cabin top railings

Post by mike66 »

I would like to rebed and tighten some stanchions that are over the aft cabin. Does anyone know if these screw into wood or if they are through-bolted? A quick look today and I didn't see anything inside to indicate there were nuts, but please advise before I start unscrewing stuff.

On our 1980 36 AC, most were threaded into wood, with just the ones at the very aft being (quite obviously) bolts with nuts under the "overhang". We were able to re-bed the entire rail without disconnecting it from the body of the fly-bridge...it was a bit close at times, but do-able. Hope this helps.

Thanks for the response. A few days of dry weather would sure help.
