Source for hose barb reducer

Post by jms02050 »

In my haste to get rid of some nasty sanitation hose, I tossed the section of hose which included the 1" x 1 1/2" hose barb reducer (can be seen in the 28TE discharge detail diagram). Google is my friend but I'm coming up empty on a replacement. Anybody have a part number, manufacturer, source?

Thank you.

Grainger.com has a large selection of hose components. I found this:

Thanks Doug. I'm actually looking for a Y which takes 1 inch and 1.5 inch hoses "IN" and has a 1.5 inch "OUTLET" on the Y. This takes the hose from the macerator and combines it with the head discharge hose on the way to the seacock.

Hmmm, that's going to be a bit harder. One hint, when you search spell it "wye" and you may have more luck.

This is the best I can find: http://aersupply.com/products/index.cfm ... 2&pid=1251

Vetus part "YCONN" which is an 1 1/2 wye. Can't find a single part that includes the reducer.

So you're looking to do away with the reducer for the maserator and connect the 1" hose right at the Y. Gonna be hard to find that Y readily available. West has the 1-1/2" Y..

I'm looking to replace what was there (I accidentally threw it out). The Y acted as a reducer, taking the 1.5" discharge from the head and the 1" discharge from the macerator and combined them to the 1.5" hose to the seacock.

Rob, in reading your post again and got me wondering how yours is set up? I apparently had a funky combination Y fitting. Do you have a reducer on the macerator hose after the vented loop which takes it from 1 to 1.5 inches, then into a 1.5 inch Y?

One last thought. Are you trying to replicate a setup that may not be the best for you? If the macerator can pump out the tank why do you need a line from the head to the seacock? Have the head plumbed just to the tank and the tank to the pumpout and macerator.

The set up matches the complex one in the 28 specs - the main benefit that I see is the ability to use the head in a legal discharge zone in the event that the macerator bites the dust. I've gone round and round and options and how best to set this up but decided that I'd be best served to put back exactly what was there.

The Tech Spec Bulletin Shows the 1-1/2" x 1" Reducer and the Y Valve as 1-1/2" on all 3 ports

I do not have a macerator, I have this manual Whale waste pump

You should be able to buy a hose barb reducer in PVC at your local True Value. The store in my hometown stays very well stocked in that sort of thing.
