I also have a 1993 TE 28 and had to replace the water heater several years ago. I measured the access panel on a newer model and made the same size cutout. I used the cutout section and installed aluminum T rail around the edges. The cut out with the aluminum rail fits back in the opening and has allowed easier access for wiring changes and of course the water heater service.

I just replaced the Seaward water heater in my 2000 28TE. The job went very well until transfering the parts from the old heater to the new. The brass fittings which connect the plastic tubing system to the close nipple going into the water heater. I found cracks in both brass fittings. The factory obviously over tightened them. They both need to be replaced. Question is, do we know who supplied this product for an exact replacement?

Thanks, you hit the nail on the head! And as a bonus I found the replacement deck shower handset that broke last year.

Rob, I think your yacht should be put in a museum. Everything looks clean, neat, put together with care. Do you have any dust in your engine room? :D

Well thanks for the compliment. Why I can't disagree that she is a much finer vessel than when I aquired her 5 yrs ago, yes there is dust, soot, oil stains, rust, etc in that engine room (somewhere :D )
