Replacing windows on the 28TE

Post by Serenity »

Has anyone replaced the sliding windows on the 28TE? The previous owner replaced the starboard window with glass and used 5200 on the trim. The only issue is the trim is mounted too far down and the window is a bear to open up. I have tried removing the 5200 with razor blades and a product called "Un-hesive", and that didn't work. I was deciding if an acrylic window would work or would the sun destroy the window.

Did you try Debond on the 5200? http://www.marineformula.com/

Acrylic, especially in the sun, would show scratches terribly.
