That is a big ooops for buzzing an island. It has happened here. About 25 yeqrs ago, supertanker, traveling in ballast. Captain thought he might deviate a little from course & have a little look see as he passed Bermuda. No Bermuda charts onboard so he figures passing 8 miles to the N is safe enough. WRONG! KERRRRUUUUUUNNCH! Water out there goes from thousands of feet deep to waist deep in no time.
