Purchased our 2000 28TE in August

Post by To the First »

Every since we laid eyes on our 28 TE, we were in love. Right when we took to the docks where she rested, we knew she was a perfect match for our family. Or Albin is a much different boat from our past power boats. (311 Scorpion Chris Craft, twin 250-*currently for sale*)

When we took on the role of parenting again, after the adoption our two beautiful boys this past July (William, now 22 months & Logan, almost 4), we decided that the go-fast boating days were over. (A little extra cautious mom here) Well, maybe a ski boat when they get a bit older. So Scott and I set up our list of “must haves” & the “nice to have”, and went searching for that perfect boat. With kids in tow, we went to see the Albin. What can I say…love at first sight. Even more so, when I plopped the boys down and they proceeded to chase each other around the raised engine covered seating area. With the sides as high as my 3yr olds shoulders… I was sold. When we had the survey done on the boat, my husband asked the tech how the engine looked, he simply replied, I’d buy it! That was all she wrote…shortly thereafter, Scott enjoyed his time alone on the Albin as he took the three hour tour/ ride back up the gulf to her new home in Clearwater, FL.

Already looking forward to the March gathering in FL…Hope to meet you all there! :D

Welcome to AOG & that is great choice of boats for you all. Most of us have had others boats but the Albin is appealing in many ways including the safety. My last boat still remains for sale a 1990 Luhrs that came out from your general area. My son lived in Clearwater Beach, Fl. until last year. Always thought it had to be a great boating area when we were there to visit.
Nice name as well. Suppose boating for you all may be more or less year around. You seem to be close to the Albin group activties. Do enjoy.

Annette,
I have said it before, many times on this site, when Sharon saw the Albin for the first time she said "now that's a boat". That was enough for me.

I recently read an article about Eastern boats. Another down-east style. The writer said [about Eastern] "Let's consider what these boats are not - overloaded floating doublewides;overly complex, styling-driven, 30 knot crab smashers; or mini floating gin palaces".

He must have been thinking about Albins too.
