Do any of you have any experiance with any of these small USB GPS receivers? Have just upgraded my PC and Nobeltec and am thinking of one of these USB's
Ones I have read about are
1. The Garmin GPS 18X USB (Passager maker electronic article gave this a huge thumbs up)
https://buy.garmin.com/shop/shop.do?pID=27594
2. US GlobalSat BU-353 Waterproof USB GPS. Half the price of # 1

3. Nobeltec sell a USB GPS 9P Portable (I think they call it a bug)

Any hands on experiance reports on these or other brands would be appreciated

Re: Small GPS USB receivers
I have been using the GlobStat BU-353 with Coastal Navigator 2009 and Polar Navy an it works great. It does have a magnetic base so keep it away from your compass. I have mine stuck to the top of my metal PC cover inside the bridge coaming on my A32CB. This reduces the signal strength a little but it has never failed to report my position accurately. If I zoom in it actually shows me in my slip.

Re: Small GPS USB receivers
I have the BU-353 and it works perfectly. No reason to spend more for one of these.

Re: Small GPS USB receivers
Roy,
Sorry for the delay. I ordered the BU-353 through Amazon. The supplier is noted on my shipment receipt form as "SCS Collectibles, Inc". Price in November 2010 was $36.95 + shipping $6.17 = $43.12. I'm sure there's a local supplier somewhere around here - maybe like Frye's - but Amazon is so much easier because I always get lost driving around in Renton.
If I remember right, on Amazon I just looked for something like "USB GPS Receiver" and it came up under Electronics.
