Annapolis Boat Show

Post by Bluey »

Anyone going to the Annapolis Boat Show next weekend? What day, what time? Want to meet up for a mini-rendezvous? Figure at least we could all wear out AOG ballcaps.

Sharon and I will be there Friday. I don't see Sassafras Harbor (our local dealer) listed as a exhibitor. I'll wear my hat too.

Looks like quite a AOG group will be there. Let's meet at the Albin exhibit. That's right, no Albins this year.

We'll be leaving Baltimore around 10:00. We should be at the show by 11:30 or so.

The show was good. We had rain off and on most of the day. We ended the day at Middleton's. While having dinner a small storm came through and then a beautiful rainbow. I picked up a couple of small things needed. We toured a few "dream boats" but kept walking back to the Sabre. Very nice boat. The best part of the show was running into AOG members along the way. :)
We won't make Tilghman today. Gotta work.

We spent some time on the Sabre's also. Great layout. We were there Saturday morning when the gates opened. The crowds didn't get bad until lunch time. We were able to get on both of the Lyman morse yachts, Excellence and Acadia. They were fantastic. $3 or $4 million can really buy a lot of boat. The Vicem and Palm Beach were also great to look at. It was the first time we had been on a Sabre and we really liked them a lot. Now we need to go back to work and save some $$$$!

Talked to the Northern Lights rep and local dealer. Hoping to pull the trigger on that next year. I think the 6kw with sound enclosure is the way to go.

It was a beautiful day. Sunny and warm with a nice breeze to meet it cool. We left over the bay bridge to spend the night in Rock Hall. The bay was rough. Glad we decided to drive and not try to run the boat over. There were actually open moorings in Annapolis harbor, I am sure that was a result of the "gusting 35" forecast.

Sitting on the boat now. There are white caps in the harbor. Looks like we won't be heading out today. The season is winding down. Hopefully will get out a few more times before the boad is hauled.

Most of us seemed to be ships passing in the night. Got there about 11 & left near 5. So nice to go to a show & not see anything worth replacing my Albin for. Closest match was the Back Cove 30? but even that is severely lacking in the human comforts dept compared to the Albin 32.

Had one of the bubble boat salesmen tell me that all the stuff, 115gal water, 2 fridges, shower stall, queen berth fwd etc., could not be had in anything under 40'

Rockhall: Enjoyed the discussion by all. My 35 did not come with a gen set. It is still a consideration if I get back on my feet again after the purchase. Are you albe to share any of the costs information you learned on the Northern Lights 6kw gen set. Were you getting just the costs of the set and related equipment or a complete installaition. I realize things will be different out west, but your findings are of interests. Are you replacing a unit or is it a complete installation as I would have to do?
