Happy and excited to report I am finally an Albin owner. The boat is coming across southern Canada from Ontario to Vancouver (Richmond) BC. Expect delivery there with need to reinstall a few things that had too come down for height Will boat down to Anacortes, Wa. which will be my home part for a time. The boat is nicely equiped but lacks radar. Have a concern about my first trip out without radar and experience with the particular electronics. Will have to do the customs, but that should not be difficult with current passport.
Would really enjoy and appreciate a tag along Albin owner for the first trip out. This should happen sometime during the week of Sept 19th. Although i have boating experince with my 290 Luhrs it is more in the nature of short fishing runs. Cruising the Puget Sound and NW Canadian waters will be a new and challenging experience. So if there is an Albin owner available to share this first experience. let me hear from you.

Re: 35 te flybridge/ NW Vancouver, BC to Anacores, Wa
New issues. Irene has put a hold on moving the boat from Ontario, Canada as the transporter is stuck in N.Y. with current load and has been waiting for new permits since last Friday. My move is now delayed. Kind of expected that. Next problem is we could not get the boat below 16' for shipment so the Flybridge is now off. Broker and former owner gave me some help by agreeing to pay for it's removal and packing for shipment. I have to pay costs to reinstall when the boat gets to Vancouver, BC - well if I have enough money left. It is a boat - what did I expect?

Congrats on your new home on the water. I too am blessed with an Albin here in Vancouver. As a tugboat, yacht, and fishing master I can truly say what a great sea boat i drive with my Albin 28. Having bought the boat in Seattle, two years ago and having to turn back at three tree pt with 35kt winds and 15-20 feet seas on day one was to say the least ... Fun! Just last weekend crossing the Straight of Georgia with NW winds heading east from Polier pass we had 10 seas on the port beam in 20-25 kts winds. Had to work the boat on and off the plane to keep water out of the stern. But the boat keeps impressing me all the time! Let me know if you need some advice or help when your new boat arrives!
Cheers ..

Thank you for the reply poyeye. It sounds like you are located in Vancouver, BC as your home port. I am indeed looking forward to some crusing there in the Puget Sound and Inland Canadian waters. However, you are taking on some very strong seas. At least for awhile I would like to do the seas in good weather and reasonable conditions. However, in the event you get caught in unexpected bad seas it is nice to know it is a northeastner designed for the worst conditions. Have had an offer for a beer to celebrate the arrival of Nibbles at Shelter Island Marna (well when it does get there) at Tugboat Annies. Will be new to me and the offer comes from another fine BC Albin owner. Want to join us? She may ship Thur/Fri 9-16 & the journey is about 6 days. You clearly have the background and skills for what you are doing. May need some lessons with my new boat and electronics. Expect to be there sometime during the first week of Oct. Hope to have the boat back together the following week for a run to Anacortes, Wa.
