Old Sailor Looking For An Albin 27

Post by RickLawrence »

I have been a sailor most of my life, but always had power boats in the background. I am looking forward to learning much from the Association.

Sailing has given me the opportunity to visit many islands in the Caribbean and Cuba, but now my wife is disabled and can no longer sail. A few years ago we got a Marine Trader 34 and loved it until a 1992 Nimble 34 came along. It has twin Cummins 150's and all the amenities including a flybridge. It is a Ted Brewer "Swagman" design and the original owner ordered a flybridge as well. My wife can no longer get up top side so we are looking for a smaller boat that is mostly on one level.

That brought us to the Albin 27, which I have always admired since they came on the market. We will trade the Nimble 34 for an Albin 27 and some cash. This will be a very good deal for someone wanting to move up to a larger boat.

Albin makes a great boat and three years ago I was able to deliver an Albin 36 TE from Chattanooga to Mobile. It was a great trip.

We live in Cape Coral, Florida and love cruising the ICW and Dry Tortugas.

Good luck in the hunt. We had a 27AC in the family for 13 years. Like a dog it is the type of boat that does become family.
