I am considering buying an Albin 36 Express Cruiser and my broker (a former distributor of boats built in China) is warning me against pursuing China built boats. The Albin 36 was built between 1999 and 2004. In what year did Albin move the manufacturing to USA?

I was hoping a 36 owner would notice this and comment as I don't have definitive info on your question.
I will say that I thought ALL 36 Express Trawlers where China made boats. I don't think I'd be overly concerned about that IF the boat surveys well.

According to the professional survey completed when I purchased Blue Moon in 2007, it was built in Rhode Island. But I agree with Doug, I wouldn't worry about where it was built. If it surveys well, that's the key.
Grand Banks built all of its boats in Taiwan and Singapore. No concerns about the quality of those beauties.
