Just took a quick trip to Port Jefferson and stayed at Danford's. A little pricey, I thought, but worth the trip. Also stayed at NorthPort, too.
Apparently, every Tuesday night in August in NorthPort is family night. The main street in town is blocked off to traffic, they have a classic car show (worth seeing) and bands, food, etc. Really a great little town and worth the trip. Stayed at Brittania Yacht Club, a short walk to town; nice marina with a pool to cool off in. Boat handled beautifully; it was our first run with our new boat and she just proved herself worthy of the Albin name

Re: North Shore of Long Island
Next time you stay at Port Jeff, try Pirates Cove which is the tiny hole on the port side as you enter. Not much room but you don't need any and you don't want to be there on a weekend.
Then climb the dune and you have a nice view.

Sounds Great. Will probably take you up on that by car sometime soon. 15 Minute Car Ride but over 6 Hours by Boat!poillon1 wrote:Anyone coming to the mid north shore area is welcomed to come in to Mt Sinai Yacht Club as a transient.
