Looking for a 36
Hi, My name is Bob. My wife Ginny and I have owned a Beneteau OC351 Sloop for the last 12 years and enjoyed sailing on the Chesapeake Bay. We are now considering moving to a trawler and are looking for a Albin 36 to pruchase in the next few years.

Hi Bob and welcome aboard!
You'll find there are a fair number of reformed sailors here (just kidding) and I'm sure the board will answer any questions you may have. Good luck in your search.

Crossing to the dark side are you? Tired of taking the scenic route to get somewhere? Have fun with the search. There seems to be plenty of 36s around. It is a question of how far you are prepared to travel & what condition you are after? Good luck in your search.

Re: Looking for a 36
I have a 2004 Albin 36 with low hours, 189, that has been a very nice boat. It has a generator and is very well equipped electronically.
However it is on the West Coast in SF bay area. This 36 Express Trwaler needs a good home that will use it more than we do. any interest?

Having no skin in this game...
One thing I've learned while looking for these rather unique boats (Albins, other than the 28TE in general) is that they can be hard to find! So, I'd advise a buyer to certainly consider a "long distance" boat if it's clean and meets their specifications. While cross-country shipping isn't cheap it's not insurmountable. The broker that we bought our 35TE from was shipping it to Florida from NY just to have it close and be able to better work on it. He told me it was a "minor factor" in his pricing of the boat.
And a nice late summer trip to SF is always a pleasure!

Re: Looking for a 36
We will be in SF in late Sept 26-37. However I suspect Swabby's 04 would exced my 55K budget prior to shipping considerations. Always open to be suppriised.
