New members in Charleston, SC
Lee and Vicky and deckhand/coxswain son Mike are new owners of 97 28'TE. Renamed last weekend Miss Vicky. Our home marina is St. Johns Yacht Harbor on the Stono River just outside Charleston, SC.

Welcome to Albin Owners Group. Nice marina. Which side of the bridge are you on?

John,
Those photos are of the old marina that was razed a few years ago. The new St Johns Yacht Harbor is on the northwest side of the bridge (replacing the slips you see in the bottom photo). The area in the top photo has no structures now, but I'm told St Johns is going to expand to that area.
It is a good location, just off the ICW about half a mile from the Elliot Cut/Wapoo Creek which connects the Stono River (ICW) to Charleston Harbor.

Re: New members in Charleston, SC
We are looking for a new destination in the Charleston area and were just discussing St. Johns. We have previously stayed at the City Marina and also the Maratime Center...just there over the 4th. How are the facilities at St. Johns...restaurant, bathrooms, etc.? Hope you are getting good use out of the Forum.

Drew,
St Johns is very nice. Bath/shower rooms are first rate. A good resturant is part of the Marina. The dock hands are a good bunch. The only drawback for you using it as a weekend get-away marina is the distance from downtown Charleston. You can walk downtown from City Marina or the Maritime Center, but it is a good 5 miles from St Johns to downtown.
