Re: Cape Cod 4th of July
If you believe in desert after a great meal, Cuttyhunk after a Cape Cod trip is the ticket. We tried to get in here once when I was not so experienced at close quarters handling and turned tail and ran. It's years later and coming in the channel with a sailboat race coming out is still a challenge to anyone who doesn't care to chum with children, but it was worth the hassle. Truly a spectacular spot. Surprisingly easy to get a slip on a Saturday on a perfect weekend, and only $2.25/ft. While there's not much to do on the island, the dock is sufficiently amusing to fill several days. Next home to Wickford this afternoon.

Sorry all just spent 45 minutes copying and pasting links to photos for this thread and it all disappeared. Can't face doing it again tonight.

It's not the iPad, it's done it to me on other computers. There seems to be a time out on the "submit" page. If you have it open too long it resets to empty. I've taken to composing posts in a text software then pasting lit into the forum. Have to find a text edit for the iPad:(

Re: Cape Cod 4th of July
I had promised photos to those who followed my posts on Cape Cod 4th of July and I'm trying out PlainText to see if this will do the trick.
The classic Cape clambake, bonfire, rocks seaweed and a 5 mil plastic tarp. The Indians didn't have the plastic, but they had more time and more free driftwood...
Two nice striped bass to throw on top, these were delicious!
Ummmm I can still smell it.
Crosby Yacht Yard in Osterville, believe me it don't get any saltier than this. The gantry type thing to the right is used for stepping masts...
Racing "Wianno juniors", local design sailboats built at Crosby YY.
Charlie, we knew him briefly, he fought us well, we cooked him briefly, he tasted swell....
Here's a link to the video, I may have to try this more than once, everything is harder on the iPad!
