It looks as though I will be replacing the hydraulic steering cylinder. My friend at the marina suggested putting in rudder stops at the same time. Has anyone done this or have them on their 28?

Re: Steering cylinder/ rudder stop?
Forget the stops and put in the bigger cylinder' HC-5314. Just be aware that this will change your turns lock to lock from 4 to 6. This cylinder should hold up better.

That's exactly what I did. And last year they re-designed the cylinders. The extra full turn of the wheel in each direction helps prevent going hard-over.

Re: Steering cylinder/ rudder stop?
Thanks for the info ...ordered, received and installed. very easy installation, however, the branch tee fitting on the cylinder will not work with the tubing and the tee fitting from the old cylinder will not fit.
Presently working on finding an adapter. Any ideas?
