After removing old gasket what is the best thing to use for cleaning and preparing the glass before installing new D gasket

If you will be using an adhesive sealant go with the manuf. specs on prepping the surface

The new gasket came in a package with no instructions and it has a self adhesive strip on it . I have heard that acitone will work

Yes acetone will work as long as it's glass
