Fire Suppression System
I bought my 35 CB in 2008 and have been meaning to add a fire supression system to the engine room. Has anyone added one? If so, what was the cost and do you know the cubic footage of the engine room. Thanks.

Re: Fire Suppression System
I have a Fireboy system mounted in the engine room of my 35TE. I'm not sure of the size but a look around the Defender site has them in the $250-$400 range. You would also want the engine shutdown pannel for another $250. And then of course there's installation...stevediebold wrote:I bought my 35 CB in 2008 and have been meaning to add a fire supression system to the engine room. Has anyone added one? I'll look and see if I have a photo, it's mounted to the underside of the hatch.
Edit - found a picture You NEED the engine shutdown for the system to be effective. If there's a fire and the system discharges the diesel engines turn into big air pumps and all of the agent is quickly run out the exhaust. Not where you want it! I believe the system I have also shuts off the ventilator fans - for the same reason - but I need to check on that.
