Goodbye girls...we'll miss you!
They always say the two happiest day in a boater's life are the day you buy the boat...and the day you sell it!
Technically I "sold" Sonny's II and III back in January but they've been hanging around. One at the marina and one in my driveway. But no more!! My daughter was just down at the yard, applying for a summer job, and the Dockmaster said "Hey, your Dad's boats are about to leave!" So she ran out and snapped a bunch of pictures with her phone. Thought I'd share the JOY!
Sonny II leads the way!
And Sonny III proudly displays her name to the world.
They're off to Port Canaveral Florida. Hope they find some new owners that will enjoy them as much as we did.

Re: Goodbye girls...we'll miss you!
Thanks Rick!
The driver was in the process of securing everything, including the biminis, when the pictures were taken. I just spoke to the broker and he said the driver was moaning that it took him a while, but that all was secured for the trip.

That was the first thing that came to mind. I don't think the canvas would have looked to good after over a thousand miles on I95..Legacy wrote:Congratulations on moving them out. Hope the driver takes down the canvas!

I don't like it sitting nose down on the trailer.
Several Mainship 390s got their engines ruined that way...water drained into the cylinders when they were transported nose down.

I noticed that as well but the 28's have a decent incline back to the elbow. From what I recall the mainships thru hull exhaust ports are much higher mounted above the waterline making for less of a pitch in the exhaust back to the engine.jleonard wrote:I don't like it sitting nose down on the trailer.

They we're all part of a multiple player (oh, wait, not baseball season yet!), multiple boat trade for Sonny IV with a broker in Florida. They're heading down there to be sold. Sonny III was almost sold here until the buyer's wife heard how much a slip costs...kathylsails wrote:Bye, bye! Where did the original Sonny end up? I'm sure I'll have lots of new stories to tell soon!

Perhaps for a visit in the next few years! Or were you referring to Sonny III? She'll be in Florida tomorrow I believe.StonePony wrote:Doug,

And if I find out where III goes I'll point them towards you Chuck! Get the numbers up some more. We'll meet up someday.
