Turquoise Albin 46TE

Post by Legacy »

Went to the Albin Marine website today and saw a new Albin 46te, not sure I like the color but interesting that a big boat like that would be added to their line-up. Anybody know anything about the boat? Check is out. http://www.albinmarine.com

We took a quick tour of her at the Norwalk boat show. Very pretty, nicely laid out...but our look was cursory as she's just a bit out of our price range!

It's not a Compton design but my recollection of her was that they pulled in enough TE cues that you knew she was an Albin.

I sure wouldn't say no if they offered her to me!

My guess is the hull is a Terry Compton design. I am pretty sure he did most of the design work for the original 45 Command Bridge and I assume the new 46te uses that hull.

I wonder if Albin sorted out their construction issues with their overseas builder? The 45 Command Bridge and early 40 North Sea Cutters had quite a few engineering/construction problems that may have contributed to the shutting down of the parent company for a few years.

Hey John,

I knew it wasn't Compton but I couldn't remember the exact designer. It's Sparkman and Stephens and this is a new design.

She's listed by our buddies at < That other Broker > if you want to take a look:

Nice looking boat. A poormans Eastbay. A bit of the Sabre look as well but an Albin through & through.
