Rendezvous Prospective Attendee List
I realize it's too early for anyone to commit but I would like to get some indication of the level of interest in the group. I also know it will depend on the date and location for some. My goal is to get the most boats to the rendezvous. If you are interested in attending, please post a reply here and include some information to help guide the planning process. Below are some suggested inputs that will help the process. I will periodically summarize the results and post them.
Your home port
Maximum distance you will travel
Important attributes of the selected location (try to indicate which things are most important to you)
My plan is to take everybody's inputs on location, attributes, etc. and summarize how well each of the selected locations provides what we are looking for. We will then have a vote to select the location. We can then vote on a date. The location we select may have some limitations on the dates available, so I think we need to pick it first. The earlier we decide the more likely we are to secure the location and date we want.

Re: Rendezvous Prospective Attendee List
Lou,
Good post.
Personally I would like a date other than the New England rendezvous only because we plan to attend that one as well.
Distance? It depends who you ask. Sharon - 45 miles. John - 75 miles.
Home port: Chase, MD (Seneca creek)
Attributes important to us?
1.) keeping us together
2.) pet friendly
3.) clean
4.) restaurant / bar at marina or close to town.
5.) pool
6.) helpful staff
Another location I can think of would be Great Oaks / Fairlee Creek.

Re: Rendezvous Prospective Attendee List
John, are those attributes listed in order of importance? If so, that's a perfect input to the planning process. Hopefully others will provide some input soon. One question. Not being a dog owner, what constitutes pet friendly? I know one place that a nearby bar gives your dog a dog biscuit when you bring him up to the outside bar. Furthermore, if you eat outside the dog is welcome to sit by the table. That seems pet friendly to me, but maybe you had something else in mind.

Re: Rendezvous Prospective Attendee List
Lou,
Good question. Pet friendly is basically pets allowed. Most marinas these days allow dogs. As far as the bar goes, Winston pefers St. Pauli Girl and Forrest likes Coors Lite.
The new one, Rainn, hasn't developed a preference yet. But we're working on it.

Re: Rendezvous Prospective Attendee List
I'm in. Home port is Rock Hall and I'm willing to travel 40 or 50 miles. Rock Hall would be a great place to have it. I can check out some places if you want. How many do you think would attend so I can ask around? I'm head down this weekend for some fishing and winterizing activities. I see that John mentioned Great Oaks. It would be fun but that place is a zoo on hot summer weekends.

Re: Rendezvous Prospective Attendee List
My best guess right now is 10 to 15 boats. If you could check on place and giv us a report that would save me some phone calls. Take a look at John's list of attributes and other posts and you'll have a good idea what we're looking for. Probably the most difficult one is docking all the boats together. Most marinas dock the transients in whatever slips are empty that weekend. Thanks for the help.

Re: Rendezvous Prospective Attendee List
Look forward to seeing you. As a reminder to everyone, you should make your reservations by the end of March. After that slips will no longer be held and you take your chances on availability. The Harbour Inn has a liberal cancelation policy so if your plans change later there is no penalty. Except that you'll miss the fun. I'll be posting some more details soon.
