Unique Refrig/freezer install

Post by odea »

In preparation for doing the Great loop in our 1985 Albin 36, I was unhappy with the relatively small AC/DC refrig. capacity. I also didn't see the value of a roll-out bar under the lower helm seat. So, I installed a 40 qt. Engel AC/DC refrig/freezer in that space. It fit perfectly with a little shaving and I also purchased their slide out hardware. Unit gets high marks for hard freezing and low power consumption. Can send pics. http://www.roadtrucker.com/engel/engel- ... reezer.htm

Does the slideout hardware you got for this fasten to the bottom of the drawer or the sides? (I am trying to find slides that fasten to the bottom)

Just bought an Engel 60 for my Albin 34. Just haven't figured out where to put it as of yet. Works remarkably well. I figure 10 below zero to be acceptable. will more than likely use it in the salon and build a settee over it.

Very good idea! Thanks for posting it. We might need to copy that if it's OK?
