Transmission coolant 28TE Yanmar
Does any one know if the transmission is cooled with engine coolant or is it cooled with raw water. The boat is a 2001 28 TE with a Yanmar.

Re: Transmission coolant 28TE Yanmar
There is a tranny cooler which is a small heat exchanger that is mounted directly over your tranny.
Raw water passes through the cooler and cools the tranny fluid which flows through the cooler as well.
There are 2 side mounted 2" hoses. The 2" hose to starboard comes from your oil cooler and supplies raw water to the tranny cooler. The 2" hose to port is the raw water exiting the tranny cooler and that is connected to your fresh water heat exchanger.
The 2 hydraulic lines circulate the tranny fluid between the cooler and the tranny.
