Florida Rendezvous Awards and Challenge !

Post by Chuck Waygood »

With 24 Albins signed up and six weeks to go, it's almost time to get psyched up ! And challenged ! So here is a start: A special prize for the boat that travels the furthest to get to Cape Harbor ! Another for the oldest Albin to attend, so check your hull numbers and learn what they mean ! And, another for the cleanest, shiniest, most beautiful Albin regardless of age. ( Should this be by a vote of all those attending? ). More to come as the date draws near....

Chuck,

Shouldn't you have an award for the closet boat....see who walks the shortest distance from their condo.

Sounds like a lot of fun.

Tom, that would be John Kays, the local guy at Cape Harbor. His Albin hangs behind his house at Cape Harbor. Anybody have additional ideas on awards? How about best preserved antique - the boat not the owner.

Twenty six (26) boats signed up! Plus 2 or 3 attending without their Albins. Will this be the largest Albin rendezvous ever? Will there be an Albin representative present ? Last call. Two spaces left.

Wow, good for you guys, way to go. I've been to three consecutive New England Rendezvous and was the coordinator in 2009. Couldn't have enjoyed it more. Have fun!

Twenty seven boats. Great appetizers, burgers and dogs and deserts to die for. A wonderful evening with great people. Tomorrow the question for this merged group, next year same time same place? And the awards. The furthest to come - a retired A-4 marine pilot from Patrick AFB in a 28 with a beautiful wife. That's easy. The oldest Albin - looks like a 1983 27 - also easy. The best kept, best looking? Not easy. Anybody have an idea on other award categories? Help, please. Private message me in the AM.
