Exhaust loop on Albin 36
WE have had a problem with the valve on number 6 cyclinder. The mechanic states it was sea water that was the problem. He looked at the exhaust system and thought there should be a exhaust loop after the water lift. Has anybody else had problems with this and has anybody put in a loop. Thank you

Re: Exhaust loop on Albin 36
I do not have a loop. The waterlift muffler has a tall outlet then the exhaust hose is a long slightly downhill run to the transom.
What kind of shape is the wet elbow in? Has that been breeched?

Wet elbow great shape but water lift comes out of the top with a 90 elbow and then runs in to the exhaust. Thinking about cuting it off and then fiberglassing in a longer section. Then a 90 degree down to rest of line. A very sligh grade. Another boat here had the same problem and got water in his engine.. Ours has a flap rubber at the end but his has nothing.

Mine rises maybe 18 inches out of the muffler. Something like that.
I have no flap on the outlet.
