I have been looking for an Albin 27 Family cruiser in the Northeast and came across the forum. Based on the short time I have been looking through the forum, it appears that this is an active Albin owners group where I can learn a great deal. My prior boats have been a 17' Whaler Montauk and a Nauset 28 Bridge Desk Cruiser ( which I sold, reluctantly when I moved to Atlanta for 3 years) . We are back in New England and my wife and I are interested in an A 27 FC with a larger diesel. If you learn of any that might be for sale, please point them my way.

Happy New Tear & welcome to the group. We had a 27FC in our family for 13 years. Averaged over 30 nights a year onboard. Our kids went from 0 to early teens on that boat. We had one of the first aft cabins to have the 100hp Westerbeke (special order). The boat could do about 12kts fully loaded with that engine but the real advantage was that we cruised at just a little above hull speed without the engine breaking a sweat at all & sipping maybe 1.5gph.

Good hunting.

Welcome to AOG. The Nauset reminds me of Albins.

There are several 27 FC's for sale on the Denison Yacht site. Here's the link: http://www.denisonyachtsales.com/mls-bo ... -cruisers/

Have you considered a 30 FC? We bought one this past summer and LOVE it!

There is also the little known 34 which had an aft cabin as well. The 34 had a very short production life in the middle to late 80s. The 30 like Kathylsails, came along in the late 90s/early 00s. Don't think many of those were produced either. A shame the style did not become popular in N America. It is a very practical design, very common in Europe.

Kathy,

Thanks for the post. I have seen a couple of 30's, in fact there is one in Charleston SC that is priced ok, Unfortunately the 30's are above my price range. I will check the Denison site again.

Thanks, keep me in mind if you hear of any 27 FC's. I have three that I am looking at in the Northeast.
