My new promariner battery charger has a terminal for a ground wire on the outside of the case and the manual states it should be connected to the boat's ground buss or chassis ground. Where is that buss located on a 2002 28te. Thanks in advance for your help.

Re: ground buss
On our 1995 28TE the ground buss is a bar with 20 screws in it fastened securely on top of the starboard stringer down next to the engine. All the green wires lead to it, and you should make sure all the wire terminals are in good condition. I replaced my buss and then sprayed it with Boeshield T-9 but there are other similar products.
I believe - but check on this with a more reliable source - the "chassis ground" refers to automotive practice, where almost all the steel parts form the negative side of any circuit. In a non-metallic boat that function is taken over by the black wires that go back to the battery, usually also via buss bars, and are not switched or fused. Remember, I'm still learning so please verify this with someone knowledgeable.

Re: ground buss
Nope. I pulled the engine because a fellow member needed a picture of the ground buss and the engine kept getting in the wayjointventure wrote:Rob, Do you always pull the engine for the winter?
BTW, I put together a slideshow of pics for my New Year's Eve party. The pics were "Great Times of 2010" and fishing on Joint Venture was among them
