Gloves for the admiral

Anyone have any recommendations for gloves for the Admiral? She pays a fortune for her nails and threatens to turn me into crab bait if she breaks a nail when handling the lines. She's been using regular work gloves, but I'm thinking there may be something more suited. Roping gloves may be OK, but I have a pair and don't like the seams in them. Sailing gloves don't have all the fingertips, so the nails are in jeopardy. She only needs gloves when handling lines.

I would suggest either the full fingered sailing gloves which they do make, or since you only need one a golf glove is real soft leather.
Sounds like a good stocking stuffer!

Both the 'big box' home improvement stores and Advanced Auto Parts carry the Mechanix soft gloves. I have had several pair, and you can throw them in the washer if they get funky after being wet. Just bought a pair for my wife at Lowe's, but haven't tried them out yet. Maybe Sunday, we'll let you know.

I like the Atlas 370 Garden Club Gloves for everyday boating. They are not elegant, but they are lightweight, flexible, inexpensive, and washable (one or 2 times), and they have a pretty good grip. They come in a 4-pack in various colors. You can get them at Amazon.com. I have nice, much more expensive sailing gloves, but they are heavy and get stiff and I rarely use them.
