RPM's at idle on the Yanmar 315

Post by Butch »

Anybody have a feel as to what the RPM's at idle on a yanmar 315 should be around or is that such a variable!

Mine idles at 650 RPMs. Seems I read somewhere that it should be a tad bit higher but without a trolling valve, I'll just keep it at 650.

If my tach is correct, I'm running almost 900 at warm idle.

This makes two at 650. My 2003 28 TE idled at between 725 and 800 when delivered. At the 25 hour checkup the dealer stated it was reving a little high and lowered it to 650.

It's been 650 since.

From discussion, reading the Yanmar manual, and reading the postings it appears I need an idle speed adjustment downward.

Thanks

Not to belabor this issue, but is the 650 RPM with a tach at the engine or indicatd by the instrument panel tack. Also, with or without load??

Thanks
