Post by saltshaker28 »

Has antone ever lowered their foward bilge pump on the 28 te mine sits on a wood shelf and there is always water present when I pick up the wooden hatch just outside the door to the head when I took the boat out of the water for the winter yesterday and removed the foward drain plug almost 3 gallons of water came out on the ground that seems like a lot of water to be carrying around when you runthe boat

Here is a link to an earlier discussion that addresses your question and with a reasonable solution ... you're in good company. Good luck.

Yes I have seen where others hooked up a small bilge pump inline leaving the high output pump intact. I too occasionally hand pump about 2 or 3 gallons
Gee, I wonder if the 31te has a drain plug for the forward bildge. I have not found one yet

An alternate solution: I extended the intake hose for the hand bilge pump so that it is now positioned in the bow area that collects the water. No wiring just 40 bucks of 2 inch hose at Home Depot.
