On the Hard

Post by Pitou »

It's official ... boating 2010 has come to a conclusion. We had a most enjoyable season staging out of our new marina in Gloucester, MA on Biske Pt .... Beautiful docks, facility and a whole new cast of characters. Total number of berths / 50. We enjoyed a secure facility, hot showers, laundry, an honor system ice locker, freezer to keep bait in, terrific clubhouse, decks, gas grills, and lobster/clam cookers. We utilized it all! Best of all the striper fishing for cows was now 30 minutes or less instead of an hour and Stellwagen is 14 nm instead of 27. Travel time from home to the boat was increased from 8 minutes to 15, not bad.
What a great year! 8) Thank you PITOU. :D

The engine, generator and all systems have been winterized, the check for the ski house rental has gone out and the new boards will be ready for pick-up next week. One season rolls into another!

I hear you Eddie, bitter sweet. Leaves to blow, wood to stack, and deer fencing to erect (and a bow to tune).

I hope you get in another enjoyable ride or two.

Me too for a week and a half. Winterized today, took the enclosure down, removed stuff from the boat.
Should be getting shrinkwrapped as I type. They were finishing a boat next to me and said they would get mine completed today. :(
It was a great season though and I look forward to next summer...(hopefully I'll be retired by then :D )

Ah yes...hoping for a few more rides before my Insurance enforced last trip...and a new Benelli looking to keep things interesting when I head to Sag Harbor next month!

If it flies, it dies!

Tis sad... but for us, put 4 new reels on the boat for a total of 12, going down tomorrow to take the Mr. Buddy and curtain, stock the fridge and check the heat. Still have a few days over two months left to feesh.
Now if this wind will just lay down a bit.

Oh...btw, Happy Albinween.

Another 20 years and I'll be retiring too

It was a great season - A perfect Long Island summer. And boating season ain't over yet. Fishing and diving to come..

Got this nice sea bass yesterday as a bi-catch on my bottom rod while sharking. Fall fishing is here. Unfortunately sea bass is closed until Nov 1st

Well we finally pulled the old girl on Friday and have joined the ON The Hard Gang . Had her trucked out to the farm and sitting beside the garage . Now we have to figure out a tarp idea ,something that I can access through out the winter to keep tinkering . You now its time when the last 4 out of 6 days have been gales .
