Where is the fresh water pump for the sinks?

Post by Mike Ebert »

I lost all pressure in the faucets. I suppose it is the pressurizing pump which finaly pooped out. Since I haven't looked for it yet, can anybody tell me where it should be on the TE 31?

On my 28 it was under the quarter berth. Very near the water tank.

Thanks guys, found it. Underneath the quarter bunk. I banged it a couple of times and it is just fine.

Last summer while sleeping on Mahalo for some reason the pump would go on & off every 20 min, would drive me nouts as I didnt know what it was. Soon realized a leaking shower head on the transom was causing a pressure loss hence the pump going on & off ( soon found pump under the berth)

Had a filter just down stream from the pump that was clogged. Got rid of the filter and the pump worked fine. The filter was not part of the pump, but was an extra inline filter.

On my 1998 28TE the pump is under a hatch under the berth below the helm. Just replaced it with a similar, but slightly higher capacity Jabsco pump. Easy job (surprise) and it works great.
