Hull Vent Covers

Post by jointventure »

A previous post had asked for info on the SS hull vent covers - mine on the 31 are from Attwood part no. 911528-1 for the cover and retainer. Check the Attwood web site for more info.

I can't remember where mine were from. I think it was Attwood also. I wrote a note to customer service saying I was disappointed that my 5 year old stainless steel vents were rusted. They asked me to send one in and after looking at the example replaced all of them for free! I wrote them another note thanking them for standing by their product. Definitely worth a shot!

Many times when I do maintenance on my 28TE I like to remove the clips from the springlifts and pop off the springlifts so I can get the motorbox cover all the way back out of the way. I always think that I should get some spare clips in case one decides to jump out of my hand and hide somewhere never to be found again. So I called Attwood a couple weeks ago and the customer service rep. said they don't sell those clips separate from the springlifts. I said well I don't need a new springlift, just some spare clips, certainly you can put a price on them, $1, $2, etc.. She asked me for my address and put a few in an envelope and just sent them to me, n/c.

So that make 2 thumbs up for Attwood !

I also need two of these, it seems they are Attwood 1488-5 judging by google and the marks on the part.

I am trying to source an alternative over this side, but its looking like I shall have to import them.
