Hi Albineers,
Just after my Bow thruster issue settled ....
Here come the Next ... My Yanmar 315 6LPTA-SLP Gear Box gives of a tuck tuck ... sound when in forward/reverse gear at below 900 revolution per minute.
Visual check; shaft seal leaks badly ... when boat at higher rev, tuck tuck sound disappear .... when at 2,800 to 3,400 rev - slippage sound appears intermittently.
Above is the First time symptom observe/occur .
Pls advices or share your past experiences.
Thanks !

Hi Albineers,
Updates ...
Call a Instant Mechanic, rush over replace with a only available 5/16" PTFE packing .... have to flatten the packing before installing.
A sense of relief ... But still check with my boater friend whether the job is done correctly.
No good comments ... decide to search BoatDiesel, A lot of advices .
Decide to give It a Try .... Redo the whole job myself.
Bought the right packing size ... 1/4" PTFE packing with Teflon grease.
Put 3 rounds of packing with Wedge shape joint, space 120* apart and applied teflon grease with liberal amount to the shaft.
launch the boat to test for leaks on the new packing at the Stuffing box.
Hand tight ... Wow no leaks but adjust to 1drop/5 secs.
Run the Boat for an hour, recheck the stuffing box for leaks .... very small leak.
Re-adjust again ... using hand tight force till 1 drop/5 secs.
Now leaving boat in the wet dock for further observation.
Note* while running in the new packings ... notice the Gear box sound at 900rpm forward/reverse engagement have minimise.
The intermitent squeaking slippage sound also disappear at 2,800rpm - 3,000rpm ... probably due to braided fishing entangle at the prop shaft end.
I believe by now so far so good again !
Cheers !
