Both these gents have correctly identified where you can find your HIN (Hull Identification Number). If what you want to know is which Albin Hull number you have you have to deconstruct the HIN. Here's a link: http://boatsafe.com/nauticalknowhow/hin.htm

I believe I've seen other posts here that say Albin starts Hull Numbers at 101. So if the middle number of your HIN is 101 you have Hull Number 1.

We just had our boat surveyed and the surveyor said the same thing Doug did. The number was 111, which is hull #11.

Ok....the middle three digits I have is 777 preceded with ALB28. So how would this be interpreted?

Here is a prior thread that gives the best description of Hull id #'s and how to decode and fully understand them. Scroll down to a post by Tuxedo, a former Albin dealer and great contributor of Albin knowledge.

I would read that as the 677th 28TE.

Hull #100

If my Hull number is AUL 30 100 A 304 then I must have Hull "0" Which is interesting :)

We were looking at this at Essex in '09 and one of the 28's did not have the VIN number here. I think it's there on my boat but I just don't remember whose boat was missing it, damn beer!

I suppose it's possible you have the first of the series. If they start at "100" we could be off by 1 in our calculations. Maybe hull "101" is actually the 2nd!

It's an Albin mystery!

Hmmm, I didn't drink that much (did I ?) I think I do have the HIN in the cabin. Then maybe it's Matt who doesn't. I'll have to check the boat tonite when I go Earl-Proof it...

Spoke with Matt, it is his boat that does not have the hull id number molded in the fiberglass behind the dinette seating. Maybe his boat was totaled and went though a Chop-Shop? !
