Boat pole with a loop?

Post by TonyAmalfitano »

Has anyone heard of a boat pole with a 24" SS coated loop? It's used to loop a piling and holding the boat while docking, or tieing up to a pier. Sounds like a little more of a positive hold then the old boat hook.
Maybe a web site for a supplier too?

I have a 24" fish net that mounts to my all purpose (brush, boathook, gaff) pole from West Marine. Take the netting off and you'd have your 'boat hook'

I spent 15 minutes googling every combination of pole, boat, loop, piling, etc. If there is such a thing out there I can't find it - and I'm good at finding stuff on the net! :?

I SPENT 3 DAYS LOOKING, NOTHING.

Close Tomcat, but not quite.

This thing strikes me as similar to an animal pole snare.

Instead of spending 50.00-80.00 I like Doug's fish net pole, without the net. If that's what you want. On the other hand, I don't know if I would try to "hold" a boat this heavy with a pole. Since Sharon is usually the one doing this, she may end up in the water.

Lines seem to work o.k. for me. Go slow, throw a lasso, cleat it off and use the transmission (fwd/rev) to move/stop the boat. Let the boat to the heavy work.

Did you notice the clicking on the "Enlarge" button shows you less of the pole, more of the girl? Nice...

You guys need to vist the "Sand Bar" at THT!
They changed the picture on the web site since I found it, and maybe since you looked at it. The pole is coming right into the lens now. Anyway, this is the thing I was asking about.
